Part 2 of my fabulous vacation starts with arriving on Lake Travis for a nice little getaway with Brett, Dallas & Britain. Upon arrival, Brett & I made our way out of the lake house and what was left of the lake. The cove which was filled last summer, was dry, with the once floating boat dock flat on the ground.
While the boys golfed one day, Britain & I made our way to Marble Falls for a girls day. Shopping at cutesy antique places was followed by a delicious homemade cookin at Bluebonnet cafe. We split the Chicken Fried Steak (plus okra and mashed potatoes) and of course we had to get pie for dessert. That's what the cafe is known for! I had the amazing peanut butter pie & Britain had the coconut cream - they were so good, but it was so hard to eat the last few bites.
After we ate more than we could stand - we drive to Lago Vista and went to this cute little winery. I liked the reds and Britain liked the whites.
We made sangria and dinner with the boys that night.
The next day (also known as the best day ever - when Brett proposed), we went hiking at a State park right up the road.
We had lunch overlooking the lake first, and then went up to the overlook before our hike.

After hiking, we went to the lake and Brett proposed!! You can check out the story HERE again if you would like :)
The next day, we went to the lake and hung out some more.
While driving back to the lake house - Brett says hey someone's car is in the driveway! I look back, really confused - and realize it is my mom's car!!! Brett had surprised me and invited her down to celebrate our engagement - she even brought Holly!
Another surprise that Mr. Paulk had up his sleeve - inviting his parents too. It was a fabulous end to an amazing week :)
